Nailsea Knitting Day - or as described by one of those who came Real Knitting Day was a small event intended to inspire and encourage knitters with a series of talks from Anne and David (Undy Yarns) and myself. |

Although the prime aim of the day was not as a retail exhibition, there were plenty of things available from both Undy and me, and many of the knitters took the opportunity to stock up with yarn, books and other items. Many thanks to Anne and David for their hard work bringing such a lovely selection of yarn - much appreciated by those who were there. |

In addition to the three talks, there was plenty of time for lunch and tea and coffee breaks. These were a very social time, with some knitters meeting others for the first time for a long time. It was also an ideal opportunity to meet new friends, particularly for the new knitters and a couple of new arrivals in the area. |

The fashion show was very simple - I asked anyone if they had something to model or show and there was a wonderful range including a hat which was knitted and felted, several lovely suits and two ponchos - really up to the minute fashion. A local knitter who produces angora brought the olvely wedding dress knitted in her own yarn which you can see below. For anyone who is a member of DesignaKnit Link, this is Sue my assistant who helped on the day. She has spend part of the last two Tuesdays getting the next issue ready to be sent out to you. |

Before the day, I had decided that there would not be another, because the response for tickets was not as good as I had hoped. However, the response to the whole day has been so very positive that I will see if it is possible. I am thinking about having another speaker and perhaps including a couple of masterclasses. |
