The second Nailsea Knitting Day (or Real Knitting Day) was even more successful than the first. This is a small event intended to inspire and encourage knitters - not just for sales |
|
Our principal speaker this year was Ann Brown, who gave two masterclasses and a talk about her recent designs - including this lovely jacket with the sumptuous collar in one of the lovely yarns which are so popular at the moment. Anne Read also gave a talk on textured knitting, mine was about using the ribber and I also ran a DesignaKnit masterclass. |

The sales areas were very popular - Anne and David from Undy Yarns had brought a large amount of yarn and other items, and there were books and other items of interest from Ann and myself. |

You can't organise a day like that without a lot of help, and herre are two of my faithful band of helpers who provided lunch and tea and coffee. Many of you will have met Glenda, who helps me at the shows, and of course my husband Gordon who worked very hard that day. Thanks to everyone for a great day. |

Last summer Beryl Griffiths who was with us on the day walked across England and Wales from Norfolk to Pembrokeshire, a total of over 600 miles to raise money for the Babe appeal - to provide a new childrens hospice in the south west. A collection on the day raised £90. There are more details on Beryl's website www.grannytrek.co.uk. If you would like to help there is a mini trek in the Nailsea area on Saturday, April 1st. Walks 2, 5 and 8 miles - sponsored by Barclays to double everything we raise!!! Please e-mail Diane for details, sponsor forms |
